We are a community of friends who have come together in memory of Alastair Ramsay who embraced life with endless passion and energy, living in England, San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro and who died aged 39 in 2007. He was a man with a big heart, big brain, big smile and big ears.
Alastair was a partner at McKinsey and Company. He was passionate about making a contribution to society and provided leadership to McKinsey’s pro-bono work, advising leading international development organisations such as Care International, Plan, the Global Movement for Children and Ashoka. He was trustee of Crianca Renascer, an innovative and effective child and family support initiative based in Rio de Janeiro and was formerly CEO of VIDA, a medical support charity in Peru. Though he contributed considerably, Alastair always wanted to do more. Through this trust, his friends and family will enable him to do so.
The trustees of the UK trust include some of Alastair’s family and friends and bring extensive experience in international development and business, healthcare, law, marketing and communication.
