ARCH currently supports the NGO Child Health in Brazil (Saúde Criança). Child Health works with families that face the double challenge of social vulnerability and a child´s illness. Child Health aims to restructure and promote the self-sustainability of families with children in social risk, that are referred by public health organizations. It was set up in Rio de Janeiro in 1991 by Dr. Vera Cordeiro and is now considered the top social organization in Latin America and 38th in the world by the Swiss-based Global Journal in 2012. ARCH worked with the local community to set up Child Health Florianópolis between 2008 and 2011, the first social franchise of Child Health and also provided a small endowment to meet some basic operating costs on an ongoing basis.
