ARCH's Project - Child Health in Brazil (Saúde Criança)

ARCH, a 100% voluntary organization, supports the NGO Child Health in Brazil that works with families that face the double challenge of social vulnerability and a child´s illness. Child Health aims to restructure and promote the self-sustainability of families with children in social risk, that are referred by public health organizations. It was considered the top social organization in Latin America and 38th in the world by the Swiss-based Global Journal in 2012. Click here for more information.

ARCH worked with the local community to set up Child Health Florianópolis between 2008 and 2011, the first social franchise of Child Health and also provided a small endowment to meet some basic operating costs on an ongoing basis.

In addition ARCH has approved a project to support Child Health in Rio de Janeiro to evaluate the use of the methdology by the local government in Belo Horizonte. Additional funds raised will support Child Health Florianópolis and if funding allows, other parts of Child Health.

ARCH’s Project – Saúde Criança Brazil

By supporting ARCH, you directly give children in developing countries a better chance for life and wellbeing. ARCH has raised all necessary funds for its three year grant to Saúde Criança, an organization that supports chronically ill children and their low-income families in South Brazil to enable them to transform their living standards and health. Thank you!

Fundraising Mission Accomplished

ARCH is celebrating ´MISSION ACCOMPLISHED´ on our fundraising campaign. We have surpassed our fundraising target of £200,000 by over 50%. We have raised and mobilized over £300,000. This has involved wonderful occasions such as the Irish ARCH ball, the UK Samba night, Children´s Fundays in Dublin, the Oxford Bike Ride and the US memorial weekend in Yosemite.

This extraordinary fundraising result has enabled us to support the wellbeing of children since the set-up of the Saúde Criança organization in Florianópolis in 2008 and have enough money in the bank to continue matched funding until the end of the three year grant. We have managed to go beyond that and pledge matched funding for a permanent headquarters for the NGO and to support a smaller project in Mauritius.

With you, we have done this as a celebration of Alastair´s life and our friendship and love for him. With its mission accomplished, ARCH is now ceasing fundraising activities.

Thank you for your support. A heart-felt ´WELL DONE´ to all of us!
